Lily Xia

Lily is a senior majoring in Human Biology at the University of Southern California. After graduating, Lily hopes to attend medical school and is interested in pursuing a career in the fields of endocrinology or gastroenterology. Lily hopes to study and learn more about how to best treat metabolic conditions in particular, because of their intimate connection to the process of aging and therefore quality of life.

Currently serving as one of USC AMWA’s Pre-Health and Education Coordinators, Lily has been in USC AMWA for three years. She joined in order to learn more about the pre-medical process and engage in a supportive community. For her, the club has provided incredible opportunities to seek mentorship from diverse female physicians who have helped motivate her and relieve her self-doubts throughout her journey.

Outside of AMWA, Lily is currently engaged in cell biology research at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. She is also working as a medical assistant at a private practice. In her free time, Lily enjoys dancing and weight lifting.

For incoming members, Lily advises you to not be afraid to seek advice whether it's from upperclassmen, medical students, or faculty. “We have all had to receive help and learn along the way, so everyone is very willing to assist in anyway possible.”
