National Organization.

American Medical Women's Association was founded by Dr. Bertha Van Hoosen in 1915 in Chicago, at a time when women physicians were an under-represented minority. Today, AMWA membership is comprised of physicians, residents, medical students, premedical students, health care professionals, and supporters. It is the oldest multispecialty organization dedicated to advancing women in medicine and improving women’s health.

USC Chapter.

The American Medical Women's Association at the University of Southern California is a premedical chapter of the national organization. Established in the Spring of 2020, we are committed to providing support and resources to our members to aid in their path to the healthcare field.
