Neyha Parmar
Neyha is a senior majoring in Global Health at the University of Southern California and currently serves as AMWA’s Secretary. As a transfer student, she joined AMWA to connect with USC’s pre-med community and meet others who share similar goals and aspirations. Her favorite part of AMWA is the collaborative events and the supportive environment the organization fosters. After graduating, Neyha plans to take a gap year to work as a Medical Assistant and continue her research before attending medical school. Outside of AMWA, she serves as a Research Associate for the Los Angeles City Health Commission, where she researches public health in Los Angeles, proposes future legislation, and contributes to the Annual Report on public health in LA. She is also a Research Assistant in the Department of Neurology at the Keck School of Medicine, where she studies diseases that mimic Multiple Sclerosis, such as Neuromyelitis Optica and Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody Disease. Neyha has also dedicated many summers to volunteering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and at UCLA West Valley Medical Center. Outside of research and volunteering, she enjoys playing tennis and is an active member of USC’s Trojan Tennis Club. For incoming members, Neyha encourages attending in-person events to connect with others and build meaningful relationships within the pre-med community!
